Table of Contents

1. Information We Collect

  • Account details: your name and email address when you register.
  • Phone number: only if you voluntarily provide one in your Profile for notifications.
  • Content you submit: information you enter into the app, such as AI chat messages, prayer requests, journal reflections, lesson progress, saved devotionals, reviews, and feedback.
  • Usage information: basic information about how you use the app, needed to provide and improve the service.

2. AI Conversations

Your AI chat messages and the responses you receive are stored in your account so you can review and continue your conversations.

  • Who processes them: AI replies are generated by third-party AI providers integrated through our hosting platform. Your message content is sent to those providers solely to generate a response.
  • Model training: Bible Chat does not use your conversations to train our own models.
  • Deletion: you can delete individual conversations from your chat history, or delete everything permanently by deleting your account in Settings.

3. Prayer Requests and Spiritual Information

We recognize that prayer requests, journal entries, and reflections can be deeply personal and sensitive. These are stored privately in your account and are visible only to you.

If you choose to share a prayer on the public prayer wall, only the content you publish and the display name you choose are visible to others. Sharing is always your decision.

4. Voice Features

Where Bible Chat reads text aloud, it uses your device's built-in browser speech feature. We do not record, transcribe, store, or transmit any audio from your microphone, and the app does not request microphone access for these features.

5. Notifications

Bible Chat can send in-app and email notifications such as devotionals and reminders. Notification settings are entirely optional and can be adjusted at any time on the Reminders page.

  • We send only the notification types you enable, at the times you choose.
  • Your phone number is used for notifications only if you provide it and opt in. SMS notifications, if offered in the future, will always require separate, explicit opt-in consent.
  • You can opt out at any time by changing your preferences in the app.

6. Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe handles your card and payment details; Bible Chat never receives or stores your full card number.

We retain only what is needed to manage your account: your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference so we can recognize your subscription.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Bible Chat uses session cookies to keep you signed in and basic analytics to understand how features are used so we can improve the app. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

8. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted providers to operate Bible Chat:

  • Base44 (hosting platform): hosting, accounts and sign-in, database storage, and AI integrations.
  • AI providers: large language model services that receive your chat messages to generate responses.
  • Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions.
  • Email delivery provider: sends the notifications you request.

Each provider receives only the information needed to perform its function, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transmission and access controls that limit your private data (chats, prayers, journals) to your account.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active so the app can function for you.

You can delete your account and its app data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Some records, such as payment transaction records, may be retained where required by law.

11. Children's Privacy

Bible Chat is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us through the in-app Share Ideas option and we will remove it.

12. Your Privacy Rights

You have rights over your personal information, including the ability to:

  • Access and correct your details at any time from your Profile page;
  • Delete your account and data from Settings;
  • Request a copy of your personal information by contacting us through the in-app Share Ideas option;
  • Withdraw consent for notifications at any time from the Reminders page.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws.

13. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in-app notification before it takes effect, and the effective date at the top of this page will change.

14. Contact Information

Privacy questions or requests can be sent to us through the in-app contact option: open Share Ideas from the app menu and submit your question as a suggestion or complaint.
